We are usually pretty low-key gals, but sometimes there is nothing better than getting dressed up and having a glamorous night with fun, festive drinks. Now that awards season is upon us, we've found that it's the perfect excuse to have a little get together and make a fun cocktail! Enter: the Pomegranate Ginger Red Carpet Cocktail.
Break out your prettiest glassware, and a cocktail shaker if you have it! We just bought this miniature one, and I'm already having way too much fun with it :) We love the color and flavor that pomegranate juice adds to any drink, so we made it the star of this one. We also whipped up a quick ginger/mint simple syrup that adds a little something special to this fun cocktail!
Pomegranate Ginger Red Carpet Cocktail
Makes one drink
Ginger- Mint Simple Syrup
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 inch piece ginger, chopped into small pieces
- 8 mint leaves
Cocktail Ingredients
- 1/3 cup pomegranate juice
- 1/4 cup grapefruit juice
- juice of 1/2 a lime
- 1 tablespoon ginger-mint simple syrup
- 1 1/2 ounces gin
To make the simple syrup: Bring water, honey, and ginger to a boil in a saucepan. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes. Turn off the heat, add the mint, and steep with lid on for 10 minutes. Strain.
To make the cocktail, combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake away! Strain into a cocktail glass. Alternatively, serve over crushed ice and top with ginger beer or seltzer, and drink with a straw.
Enjoy!
